We were blessed to partner with Samaritan’s Purse again this year for Operation Christmas Child. We were able to send out 18 shoeboxes filled with Christmas presents for children all over the world who need to hear the Good News of Jesus! Again, thank you to all who participated!

This year we upped our gift to the Northwest Elementary School in our Manchester neighborhood with a donation of 24 backpacks from SendRelief. Each one was filled with individual student supplies from the school lists and we were able to also give several large bags of classroom supplies. Thank you to all who donated to this neighborhood need!

In June and July, we had two of our three scheduled times of Worship in the Park, where we take our Sunday worship out to Lafayette Park, a city park that is just a 1/2 a block away.

Emmaus celebrated two baptisms (one pictured here) and the addition of four new members!

Emmaus Church is represented at the Walk for Life, raising funds for Real Options, a pregnancy care center dedicated to the sanctity of life.

Our year-long ministry project has been decided. We are going to collect supplies for the homeless and fill backpacks to be handed out in advance of the winter chill. Something new every week will be added to the list

While persistent December storms and COVID conspired to diminish our 6th Annual Christmas Carol, we had a small but determined group that braved the cold and the masks to bring the Christmas message of hope to our inner-city Manchester neighborhood! So thankful for all who participated!

Even in the midst of COVID, we still wanted to reach out into the neighborhood. Here, we delivered bags of school supplies to our neighborhood school, Northwest Elementary

Our 5th Anniversary celebration was tempered by the COVID restrictions we have heald to. Thank you to Dr. Terry Dorsett for bringing us a wonderful virtual message and word of encouragement!

Due to COVID-19, we have moved to a virtual-only service with worship and tech in attendance…

Mitch Forman from Chosen People Ministries presents a message on Jesus in the Old Testament

We had our 5th Annual Christmas Carol this year! It is hard to believe we have been doing this for five years! Even though we had two snow storms during the week (over 20 inches of snow!) and the temperatures were quite cold, more than fifty people braved the elements to sing God’s praises to the Rimmon Heights neighborhood of Manchester. We also gave out almost 120 gift bags with books, flyers, DVDs, candy canes, and invitations to our Christmas Eve service! Thanks to all who came!

We welcomed Craig Alsup from Manna Worldwide. He spoke about upcoming mission trips to Asia that he will be leading as well as the Biblical command to missions!

Does anyone want to join us on a trip to Mongolia in October 2020?

Pastor Kevin and Craig Alsup from Manna Worldwide

Emmaus Open House-Now that the work inside is done, we opened the doors of the church to all who would like to see… We had almost 30 people visit and enjoy food from our new next-door neighbors, Pesto Pasta!

Worship in the Park-Once a month, during the Summer, Emmaus packed up and went over to the next block to celebrate worship in Lafayette Park on the west side of Manchester. We had a great time worshiping under the blue skies.

Missionaries and Work Day-Had the new floor installed,  finished the painting, re-organized, and cleaned!

Finally Finished!

December 8th

Emmaus Church hosted our 4th Annual Christmas Carol. We had 53 people (and one dog) from 15 different area churches  participating as we went out into our new neighborhood and shared carols and handed out gifts. We gave out 120 bags with devotionals, DVDs, Gospels of John, church information with invitations to Sunday worship and our Christmas Eve service (along with a whole lot of Christmas candy…). It was a glorious evening full of fun, fellowship, and blessings. Thanks to all who participated, and we cannot wait to do it again next year!

Check out this video of the carolers in action!

December 2nd

For the very first time, Emmaus Church “Got To” set up and decorate our own Christmas Tree in our new worship space…

This has been a Summer of work, work, work. The worship space is in the process of a complete do-over:

Thank you to all who have helped AND who will help going forward!

In addition to the new worship location, we have also leased the space next door. It was formerly a Chinese restaurant. We are gutting the place, cleaning, painting, etc. in an effort to turn it into a ministry location for the neighborhood that will offer food and fellowship. We are always looking for people who want to help the community and would like to come alongside our efforts. Please feel free to contact us. Use the title King’s Table in the contact form.

With great sadness we say farewell to our worship leader, Ed, as he was called home to be with the Lord. Our prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.

Emmaus Church moves into a new location after 3 years! We are moving to 168 Amory St., Manchester, NH!
Many thanks and blessings to Christ Kingdom Builder Church for sharing their space with us for the past 3 years!
Now a new location, a new neighborhood, and a new list of needs and ministry to be done!

We will be celebrating with our first worship in the new location on Sunday, May 6th with an “informal” worship time at 5:30 PM

December 17th – Third Annual Downtown Carol

Thanks to Christopher Williams for a beautiful evening of worship and praise! This intimate event was one to remember!

August 6th – Worship in the Park, Part 2! was a great evening of worship and praise!

July – Worship in the park!

We gathered in Victory Park in downtown Manchester for our Sunday Worship! We had a glorious day and lots of new faces!

June – We would ask for your prayers as our search for a new location for our worship seems to be coming to an end. We are hoping to be able to report shortly on a new address for Emmaus Church…

Spring – Our Bible studies are in full swing this year as we examine Isaiah on Monday nights at the Burns Building (55 South Main, Manchester…all are welcome) commons room AND we tackle Genesis on Thursday evenings at the church. Both of these studies are lively and full of conversation and anyone is welcome to join in once or for the whole book!

May – Great Vision Meeting with lots of input and some delicious pot luck food! We are looking ahead to moving to a more easily accessible, always available, visible location with which to minister to the people of Manchester and beyond.

January 29 – We had our Second Annual meeting that included a potluck supper (YUM!), a review of membership, activities, and finances, and focused effort to find a new location for our Sunday worship and Bible studies. Please keep us in prayer as we search for this place that God has planned for us!

December – Our Second Annual Christmas Caroling event in downtown Manchester was a huge blessing! We had six churches represented, gave away sixty Bibles, seventy salvation tracts, sixty Billy Graham DVDs, lots of candy canes, and ten Blessing Bags (with cold weather supplies for the homeless…). We sang all up and down the downtown area and were blessed to have over forty people taking part! Thanks to all who joined in!

November – we celebrated the ordination of our pastor, the Reverend Kevin Fortier, by our sending church, FaithBridge Church in Manchester. It was a joyous evening of celebration for the work the Lord is doing!

July and August have been somewhat quiet on the surface but God has been working mightily in the lives of the church. We are now boasting in Him 12 members strong and prayerfully reaching out to the city multiple times every week. Our church is strong in the Lord but has many struggles in the world. Please keep us in prayer as we seek to reach the lost and do the work that God has called each and every one of us to!

June 26th – We joyfully baptized a family of five today! We welcome Paul, Becky, Jack, Luke, and Molly into the Kingdom of God!

June 18th – with members of Emmaus Church, Providence Baptist Church (Epping, NH), and a group of teens from the FaithBridge Church youth group (our sending church), we spent the morning out in the downtown area of Manchester meeting people, asking them questions about their faith, and sharing the Gospel. We had 17 people who were involved in this outreach and we were able to meet a couple of dozen people. We even had one young woman receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior on the sidewalks of Manchester!

June 5th – Emmaus church celebrated our first anniversary as 31 people gathered for worship in song, the Lord’s Supper, and time in His Word. We were blessed to celebrate with so many friends and church folk! After a wonderful first year, we, as a church, are excited to see what God has in store for us in year two!

May – We are looking forward to our First Anniversary! We will be celebrating Emmaus Church’s first birthday on Sunday, June 5th. I hope you will join us for worship that evening!

January – This year has begun with new faces and a second evening Bible study. We have been blessed to share the Gospel with people who are seeking to know Jesus in their lives and to return to Him after a time apart.

December – On the 20th, we had our first annual (we hope) multi-church (with people from Providence Baptist Church in Epping, NH and our mother church, FaithBridge) Christmas Carol Invasion of downtown Manchester. There were 35 voices who came out to spread the Good News of Jesus. We gave out 25 Bibles to folks we met as well as over a dozen blessing bags to the homeless and less fortunate in the city! What an amazing evening!

The 35 people from 3 different churches who came out Christmas caroling in downtown Manchester on the 20th

November – We have begun our very first weeknight Bible study and it has quickly grown to over 10 people. What a testimony to the glory of God that He brought us to these connections with people whose hearts He has prepared…
